Overall objectives:

• To identify priorities for supporting economics research in health and care.
• To present these priorities to NIHR.
• To secure support from NIHR for more development of economics research in health and care.

Objectives for the next 12 months:

• To survey the views on the biggest challenges for the careers of people undertaking economics of health and social care and what a major funder like the NIHR could do to help address these challenges.
• To develop proposals for helping with the difficult transition from early- to mid-career stage.
• To discuss with NIHR Programme leaders how they can support economics in NIHR work.
• To develop, and secure support for, a proposal for a funding stream dedicated to developing and disseminating economics methodology in health and care research.
